The Woodmont neighborhood of North Arlington has a very small-town feel, with beautiful homes located within just a quarter of a square mile. As the name suggests, the neighborhood has abundant large trees that form natural privacy walls between homes. And yet the neighborhood is really just a five minute drive to the Kennedy Center in DC, and an easy commute to K Street.
Residents in the neighborhood are able to enjoy numerous outdoor opportunities to gather for fun and games at the Fort C.F. Smith Park — a beautiful 19-acre site that includes a lush tree canopy, an open meadow, the lovely Hendry House and preserved earthworks of the Civil War fort built in 1863, and many other outstanding features. There is a 1/2 mile of trails on this 19 acre site. The trails are of a variety of surfaces including asphalt, mulch, concrete and gravel. Enjoy a stroll on the grounds while observing wildlife, open space and historic features as outlined on interpretive signage throughout the grounds. Take a walking tour of Fort C.F. Smith Park.
