Home Staging 101

What is the most often used word in staging?  Transitional.  Not too traditional, not too contemporary, and just right.

The folks at House Beautiful call the transitional style the “Happy Medium,” which is exactly why every Arlington VA stager I know uses that word to describe their style.

This look is perfect for anyone who feels like traditional design is a bit too stuffy, but steers clear of contemporary for fear it’s too cold and stark.  As described in the House Beautiful article: “Transitional style has cleaner lines, sleek profiles, and a more modern aesthetic without wiping out all the traditional details. In transitional spaces, there are nods to both modern elements and traditional elements,” says interior designer Barbara Schmidt. It’s proof that you can, actually, have the best of both worlds.

Interested in learning more about staging?  I’ll be hosting a FREE staging seminar on January 24, 2019 located in the Glebe Room of the Arlington County central library.  Susan Campbell, executive stager and owner of Lemon Tree Staging, will be offering tips and tricks to help you prepare your house for sale, or even just to make it more fun to live in.  Please call/text me at 703-362-7764 if you’d like to register for this event.  We’ll be there from 5-6:30 on the 24th to share some staging tips and discuss your questions and concerns.
