The Waycroft-Woodlawn neighborhood is known for its charming homes, bountiful green space, sought-after schools, proximity to metro, and general neighborhood friendliness. There are about 500 homes in the neighborhood, with a mixture of older Cape Cod style homes built in the 1930’s to the new construction of today. From Waycroft-Woodlawn you can walk to the Ballston metro and mall, Lacey Woods and Woodlawn Parks, and the Martha Custis bike trail. Lacey Wood Park (where, true confessions my young children enjoyed many wonderful hours) covers 13 acres of green space with places for grilling, hiking, basketball, a playground and tot lot, and fire ring. Woodlawn Park offers a community field, a tot lot and playground, half-court basketball and a nice picnic area near a small stream.
